They are part of the Chinese Yuan withdrawn Renminbi banknotes series. The People’s Bank of China started issuing these 5 Chinese Yuan banknotes in 1960. They were withdrawn from circulation in 1980.
The 1960 version of the ¥5 Wu Yuan banknote shows a foundry worker on the front side. On the back side of the brown coloured 5 Yuan banknote is an image of a stone quarry with a train and stylized trees.
